Volcanic Sacrifices: A MAJOR DILEMMA

my cookies are frosted....in a real bad way. so, i post to you, my readers, a question. well...several questions.

what is your stance on paroled sex offenders?
what would you do in a situation like this?

the jist:

My children attend an elementary in Pico Rivera, California. Their father also maintains a house there, that they live in 1/2 the time. Yesterday I received a letter from the kids school from Chuck Fuentes, City Manager of the City of Pico Rivera. It was informing parents & citizens that there was a community meeting THAT NIGHT at 6:30PM in City Hall. (click HERE for a typed copy of said letter)

It seems that State Parole Officers have been placing paroled & transient sex offenders in our cities motels and moving them EVERY 4 DAYS to avoid having to register them with our local authorities.

These sex offenders are being released & housed in our city WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE. I believe that this violates existing state laws requiring sex offenders to be housed at least 1/2 a mile from schools. This practice most definitely leaves our city at risk.

I think that this is criminal.

And I'm also miffed and frankly disturbed that I received this notice with little more than 4 hours notice from the city about this meeting. And because so, I was not able to attend. I have 4 children. There is no way I can find emergency sitters at such short notice.

I can't believe that this city that I have entrusted with not only the education of my children, but their general well being & safety, would be so negligent in allowing this practice to occur. And that they would hinder their response to public outcry with a measly 4 HOUR notice to their citizens about such a "hot button" topic.

I am appalled & aghast, to say the least. I am thoroughly disgusted with the State Parole Officers & their handling of this situation. It sickens me to know that they are allowing such vile degenerates to freely hop about my city, without my knowledge...hell, without ANYONE'S knowledge.
