Welcome to the 2005 Holiday Edition of Getting to Know Your Friends!
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? i like both, but am more partial to hot chocolate. and it would have to be my ghiradelli hot cocoa mix that we bought on our "trip" to san fran. lol!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Santa brings gifts wrapped in individually chosen "SANTA PAPER" for each kid.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? well i used to do colored & white on the tree, but since this year we opted for an artifical tree (no sense in having a real one out here...it'll be dead in 2 days...) it came with white lights. and the outside has colored lights.
4. Do you hang mistletoe? yeah. we have mistletoe on the chandelier in the LR....i had a kissing ball, but the ex kept it for his house.
5. When do you put your decorations up? its always been the weekend before turkey day.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? would have to be my great-grandmother's lima bean & carrot cassarole. since she passed, it gets made by everyone in their respective houses.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? i'm not really sure. i've got too many to remember.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? would have to be when i was 12 & my mother threw her back out. i had to play santa that year. and she taught me all about "how to be santa!" :)
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? when i was a kid, no way. we did christmas morning. now, the ex's family does it & i used to let the kids open just one on christmas eve. but i put the kibosh on that & we're back to the 25th.
10. What kind of cookies does Santa get set out for him? it depends....when i was a kid, he used to get berliner kranzers or angel kisses. now he gets whatever is freshly baked! :)
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? love it, but don't get it out here....that's going to change next winter! :)
12. Can you ice skate? yes. jeanette cook's step-dad taught me when i was about 9. :)
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? would have to be my stuffed chewbacca when i was about 6.
14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? everything. spending it with the kids, making it as picture perfect as i can get it on a shoestring budget & in an apartment....but its going to change....REAL SOON! :)
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? would have to be my homemade pumpkin pie. mmmmmm...nummy!
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? the jesus stocking. it started at my mother's & has continued in my house. jesus gets a plain stocking & in it you put your hopes & dreams for either someone else or everyone else in the new coming year.
17. What tops your tree? the angel i bought myself (my very 1st christmas decoration) about 15 years ago...
18. Which do you prefer Giving or Receiving? giving. i like making sure that everyone else has a better holiday than i do. :)
19. What is your favorite Christmas Carol? carol of the bells....sung by the mormon tabernacle choir. its breathtakingly beautiful.
20. Candy Canes! i love them, but DC's not a fan.
